Community Service

People are living longer so there are more elderly people. Many young people are doing community service. They help elderly people. They do their shopping. They do their housework. They clean their yards. They even paint their houses.

Some young people work as hospital volunteers. In America, they are called candy stripers' because of the striped pink and white uniform they wear. Others are concerned about the environment and work on neighborhood clean-up campaigns.

Con người ngày nay sống lâu hơn nên có nhiều người già hơn. Nhiều người trẻ đang làm dịch vụ cộng đồng. Họ giúp đỡ những người già. Họ đi mua sắm cho người già. Họ làm việc nhà, dọn dẹp sân và thậm chí còn sơn nhà cho những người già nữa.

Một số người trẻ đang làm việc như những người tình nguyện ở bệnh viện. Ở Mỹ, họ được gọi là ‘Kẹo sọc" (Hộ lý tình nguyện) bởi vì họ mặc đồng phục trắng sọc hồng. Những người khác quan tâm đến môi trường và làm việc theo các chiến dịch tổng vệ sinh khu phố.
